Overall, a disappointing meal & customer experience. It was not even mentioned that this was an optional charge & if I was ok with it. Now after the complete lack of customer service, this was rather presumptuous of her. On presenting my payment method, card, the total was entered into the machine with the server entering the optional 12.5% service charge. No update or check in from our server throughout the meal until after waiting around with empty dirty plates for what seemed like ages I requested the bill. To be fair the Mac & cheese on the burger was good but the cheese truffle fries just reminded my of McDonalds fries with cheese dip. Food served with pretty bland, lacking a quality bbq flavour. Obviously by not spending money on alcohol, we were of less importance than the work place gossip. By somehow declining alcohol this seemed to cause offence & she paid minimal attention to us, preferring to stand around the kitchen area & talk to kitchen staff. Next up, after the waitress informed us about a happy hour promotion, to which we declined, the customer service experience nose dived. I dunno about you, but I don’t appreciate the smell of cigarette smoke while trying to eat a meal. The people outside weren’t patrons enjoying a mid meal smoke but random folk & staff from other establishments. This didn’t seem to be drawing any attention from staff. Being sat right next to the door, smoke was blowing in from a bunch of smokers who were stood outside. Well after arriving to a near empty restaurant, 3 others tables being occupied, we were sat virtually on top other guests.
